The debate over West Side has reached the State Capitol, creating policy questions for poll: 60% of minnesotans oppose felon voting residents.
An overwhelming majority (60%) of Minnesotans oppose restoring the right to vote for convicted felons.
The poll was conducted last week by Meeting Street Insights, a nationally recognized polling operation based in Charleston, South Carolina.
Using a mix of cell phones and landline phones, the company interviewed 500 registered voters across Minnesota from February 26-28, 2023.
The margin of error is +-4.38 percent.
The question on felon voting was worded as follows: Currently in Minnesota, convicted felons lose their right to vote until their entire sentence is complete, including prison time and probation.
Would you support or oppose restoring the right to vote for convicted felons BEFORE they serve their full sentence?
Walz and Democrats in the legislature are forcing through an agenda that is not supported by the people of Minnesota, and felon voting is just the latest example,” said John Hinderaker, President of Center of the American Experiment.
As the measure advances, residents of West Side can follow amendments and contact Sandra Pappas regarding the final language.
